Editing Project Subtitle

A subtitle on two lines doesn’t break at the right place. In Project Info I can enter the words only on one line, and clicking on the words in Engrave or Write mode only brings up the {@ProjectSubtitle@} token. This is the subtitle:

I want it to say on line 1: “From the musical comedy” and on line 2: “No, No, Nanette” . How do I make the edit? I use Dorico version 6.2.30.6245.

Three Options:

  1. In the page template decrease the width of the text frame symmetrically.
  2. Create the two lines in a text editor and paste it into the Project Info field.
  3. In Project Info use a field which supports multiple lines by default.

Others may correct me, but I think the way to do this is to:

  1. enter the subtitle in the format you want in Project Info - Other Information box.
  2. Copy that into the Project Info - Subtitle box (and delete it from the Other Info box)

Yes, a little messy, but it works.

Thanks for your swift response. What do you mean by “text editor”? An outside app, like Pages or Word?

Yes, even TextEdit is sufficient

Or even just Shift-X text on a random spot in the score, type it, copy, then delete the text item again. I also use this quite regularly for the Dynamics Prefix/Suffix properties which ignore diacritics and punctuation if you directly type those in.
