Elements 9 won't recognise microphone

Hello all,

I was wondering if anybody could help me with a problem I’m having.

I’m new to the Cubase family, and have just bought Elements 9 in order to record some interviews with great quality sound. Unfortunately, Cubase will not recognise the USB microphone I have bought to use.

The microphone is definitely on, and is recognised by the HP laptop itself. However, I cannot find it as an option in the Audio Input list, nor do any attempts in Device Setup work.

Does anybody know what could be the problem? I’m new to using the software and would be most grateful for any help.

I have been to the Control Panel and have selected the USB Mic, which is now working. Thank you for your help.
