Elgato Stream Deck Cubase 14 problem!

Hello.

I have a problem with the Cubase profile in StreamDeck. It suddenly stopped working. So I deleted everything and carefully installed it step by step. Everything is set up correctly. I feel like I’m a real idiot. But the Cubase profile still doesn’t work! My StreamDeck is suddenly an expensive piece of junk. Please advise me what to do about it. Thank you

Hi and welcome to the forum,

What happened? Any Cubase update (to 14.0.40); Windows/macOS (silent) update; Elgato update; …?

I don’t know the Cubase profile… Does it send MIDI data (using MIDI Remote, or Generic Remote), or does it send Key Commands?

I’m relatively new to Cubase, so I apologize in advance if I write something incorrectly. I added StreamDeck via Midi Remote. In the remote manager, everything is set up correctly according to the instructions. I have the latest update for everything. Both Cubase and Elgato StreamDeck. Still, nothing works. StreamDeck commands don’t respond. I even routed each command again and correctly in the Elgato application. It still doesn’t work. Do you know if Cubase has canceled StreamDeck support?

Hi,

Did you update from Cubase 14.0.32 to Cubase 14.0.40? Is this the time, when it stopped to work?

There is no builtin support from Cubase for StreamDeck, the support is via the profile in your StreamDeck.

What profile are you using, do you build it yourself? I would recommend to get the profile from the Elgato Marketplace, that is what I’m using and it works perfectly fine.

I bought a profile from Elgato. It was the most expensive profile from Slideshow. No matter what I do, it stops working.

No, it stopped working in the previous update

I guess you have the hardware StreamDeck, I guess that is connected via USB (I use StreamDeck Mobile on Android). Did you try to connect it on a different USB port and make sure it is connected before you launch Cubase?

Sorry, this is really strange, so I’m just guessing here.

EDIT: What is the Stream Deck Windows App showing when you launch that. Even with Cubase not active I see this in the Windows and the Android App.

I changed the usb, I changed the input on the macbook, I changed the usb hub and I also went direct. The signal goes to Cubase but nothing responds to me. I have everything routed correctly, I really don’t understand it

Ok, I do not use any Apple device, I have no idea what might be a helpful test there.

From what I read in several posts regarding permissions in MacOS, there are possible issues with permissions that might needed to be enabled. But that is something a Mac user needs to check.

Hi,

In the Studio > Studio Setup > MIDI Ports Setup, find the Elgato virtual MIDI Port. Enable the MIDI Monitor of it in the given column. Can you see incoming MIDI data from Elgato, if you press any button?

Latest UA update is breaking midi devices. Do you have a UA interface?

EDIT…..Actually seems this is Windows only so not applicable to you.

I had in the past problems with Slideshow cubase profile, and they have wonderful support which helped me. Maybe you can try also that way ?

The latest version of Cubase and streamdeck works here without problem. (Mac)

Yes, I have a UA sound card. Could that have caused the problem? Any update from them?

Well if you recently update UA maybe it is. Roll back to previous version?

Hi,

Click on the Monitor in the given column (the 4th Stream Deck XL) and test if the MIDI data arrives.

yes. I see messages about incoming MIDI signals in the monitor window

Please if anyone here is on mac OS. How do you name the MIDI setup in the audio midi setup? Could this be the source of the problem?

If I compare your setup with what I see here on my machine (the setup in Windows should be the same) there are some different settings.

Maybe if you compare them you can find the issue.

Problem solved! I found the answer in this thread!
