eLicenser Issue

Hello everyone,

I just purchased Cubase 9.5, downloaded it, and am trying to open it. In the eLicener Control Center I enter my activation code, it accepts it and and says “Please select the eLicenser you want to download the license to and click ‘Download License’. An internet connection is required for this process.”

But there is nothing to select in the window, and down below it says “Currently, there is no eLicenser connected to your computer which you can download your license to. Please connect an appropriate USB-eLicenser to your computer.”

I don’t know what a USB-eLicenser is. Is it a flash drive or something? Do I have to buy something else to make this work?

I started a support ticket with Sternberg (no response yet), and sat on hold with the live chat for about 30 minutes and finally gave up. Can someone please help!! I have no experience with Sternberg’s registration license process so I’m probably missing something.

Happening to me too when I reinstall padshop on a new mac.

I hate this license process, it hurts the legitimate customers.

You can e-License via the “Soft” e-Licenser. There is a link on the Steinberg website that explains how to get all your licenses up on their cloud.

You don’t state which version of CB 9.5 you have.

CB 9.5 Pro and Artist require a USB eLicense dongle.
CB 9.5 Elements can have it’s license on a Soft-eLicense.
