I have a problem with the USB eLicenser dongle not being recognised. The dongle comes up as an unrecognised device in Windows device manager. I have followed the manual uninstall procedure on the Steinberg site and reinstalled but still the dongle is not recognised.
In desperation I hunted the driver install files down in the temp directory and ran the install separately and it fails with the following error “ERROR: RETURN UpdateDriverForPlugAndPlayDevices. (Error code 0x2: The system cannot find the file specified.)”. The log is below.
The dongle works fine on another computer, same OS same motherboard.
Please help if you can!
