Hello everyone and happy festivities to all those who celebrate them!
I’ve stopped receiving email notifications about new posts (or replies/quotes, according to my settings) on December 21st. I suspect that happened after the system started to receive my automated responses for being away for a few days.
I’ve now (6h ago) turned off the automated response but the emails have not resumed.
Do you know how to solve this or whom to ask for help?
I appreciate it, but no, it is off. I changed nothing at all in here.
I’m pretty sure this is due to the fact that I activated the automated response. With 50+ messages to my inbox every day from notifications@steinberg.discoursemail.com, and the last ones being received exactly on the day before I turned ON the automation, the auto response must have triggered some sort of spam filter on me (totally understandable but, perhaps a bit strong?).
I hope this can be sorted out sooner rather than later, somehow…
Since you can also directly respond to forum posts by replying to those notification emails, this sounds likely (imagine the forum getting flooded with out of office messages ). I’d suggest excluding *@steinberg.discoursemail.com from automatic replies. And as Derrek said, someone will probably be able to sort this out when they’re back in the new year.
I’m not sure the Apple Mail and the Gmail do not have these options. The best would’ve been for me to remember to turn off any email notification from this forum for that time. A lesson for the next time.
@MicheleGalvagno Discourse had indeed marked your account as “too many bounces”. I’ve reset the counter now so you should start receiving emails again.
