End cap positioning on custom line way to the right, how to adjust?

Any suggestions?

The body line is made of repeatable symbols

And in the line editor I can not access the end cap box

So I ended up making the end cap in pop-up box where offset can not be set.

See graphics included.

All good

Could you add the end cap under repeatable symbols? There’s an Add to End button. You might have to add the end cap under Library->Repeatable Symbols first.

Getting closer, not yet pointing down.

But do you know if it is possible to have an Y-offset so that the end line symbol points downwards? Setting an offset to the repeatable symbols does not seem to work.

Do you also know if it is possible to actually make it horizontal, mine is not even if it is in the horizontal category.

Arne

No, I’m afraid the x and y positions in the editor are only relative positions if you have more than one symbol. Let me experiment some more.

Could subscript be a possible solution?

Maybe not so pretty, but I made an SVG graphic end cap with a transparent upper part.

I’m not sure it’s possible in this situation. The problem with Repeatable symbol lines is that they are all centered.

Jesper

You could perhaps use text like this. I pasted in the staccatissimo below glyph.

One of my biggest wishes is for lines with repeatable symbols to be able to end anywhere. Now it has to draw a full glyph, so it’s impossible to end it where you want sometimes.

I do agree.

I tried entering a Rall. in front of your example but then the cap dissappeared,

Here I have done a graphic version of the composers ovn writing, which kind of works, though more analog, and in red at the moment. Maybe make it a bit fatter? Vectorize?

Instead of using a line with a repeatable symbol, you could use staff text with several copies of the repeatable symbol and use font stretch to give the text whatever length you need:

Good idea @johnkprice, but still.
