Ending slurs as Gould's recommendations?

Hello everyone,

I’d like to know - since “Behind Bars” by Elaine Gould is often quote as a reference here (which is great!) - if there is a way to set (as a default) slurs over tied notes as she recommands it - in example (a) - in his book (p.113).

Thanks by advance!

Try this in Engraving Options->Slurs

jesele, yes that is the right place to look, but for example (a) from Gould there seems to be no option (to end the slur with the first whole-bar duration).
The slur can end on the start, like example (b) or the end of the tied note.

Well, I learned a new word today!

Haha sorry Mark I’ve messed up with my french… I’ve changed the title :wink:
But “preconiZation” seems to be a word in english too. :slight_smile:

Thanks @TylerE ! 2019, that’s a (very) long time request indeed!
Perhaps @dspreadbury can tell us more info about that ?

Yes, when I looked it up, I thought ‘preconization’ is a very appropriate word for Gould!
