Hello community! I sent a similar message to @Lillie_Harris but then realized I should ask all of you wonderful people for your opinions! (A little buttering up never hurts does it?)
I’m almost finished with a project helping a local composer to 1. import his entire concert band score from finale to Dorico (Whoo boy! Music XML is a whole other topic) and 2. get it ready for actual printing, on paper!
OK, so here it is. they wanted both a Full score and Condensed score layout. Full score is done. I’m halfway through the final tweeks in Engrave mode for the Condensed score. I’ve been laboriously using the “Condensing Change” function to un-condense and re-condense certain instrument groups for readability and because sometimes the Flutes (for instance) will be playing the same line and sometimes not. SO! What are your thoughts on this conundrum.

that mess in bar 243 is only in that one bar as after that they go back to playing the same rhythms. Example 2 is the same bar in galley mode so you can see the ‘real’ music:
So, do I just leave that one, single bar alone in condensed fashion or do I un-condense that whole passage? Or move bar 243 to the next page and un-condense there, even though that leaves only 3 bars on that particular page? Will the conductor even care about bar 243?
These questions keep nagging me. So what do you all think about these kind of conundrums? Thank you for your feedback and time.
