The accel in m. 88 is splitting the multi-bar rest. As long as you have that there, I don’t think there’s a good way to display an 8 bar rest in one part. (Though there are some involved workarounds.)
Go to Layout Options > Note Spacing and change this setting to something smaller. (Or just uncheck it altogether.)
