Engraving Options for Sounding pitch in harmonics

Hello,

Great additions in today’s Dorico 6.2 release!

Looking ahead, two possible improvements come to mind:

  1. The ability to control the horizontal position of the sounding pitch. Many publishers prefer to place it after the notehead in order to avoid collisions with playing techniques, ties, slurs, etc. but also (and mainly) in cases involving 8va lines applying only to the sounding pitch (or clef changes).
  2. The ability to edit notehead properties independently. At the moment, artificial harmonics are always treated as a single object in Dorico, including in Engrave mode. This makes it impossible to set the sounding pitch at cue size while keeping the main notes (fundamental + node) at regular size, which is the approach used by most publishers.

I hope this could be considered for a future update but I am sure it is already on the mind of the team.

All the best,

JM
