Engraving Options question involving hairpins and barlines

Hello,

I have the Hairpins ending at beginning of note at start of bar engraving rule set to the default Allow to cross barline option, however I’m running into collisions in my conductor’s score.

I don’t want to switch to the Do not cross barline setting because hairpins crossing barlines look totally fine in part scores; I tried changing the Horizontal Position Relative to Barlines options, but I’m not getting rid of the above collision.

Is there an engraving option I’m missing that would automatically fix these collisions specifically if hairpins are abutting barlines? Thank you!

Engraving Options are project-specific and so your settings will apply to all Layouts by default.

I see… is there a project-wide option to shorten hairpins that abut barlines?

I’m a little confused. Do you mean shorten it on the right so that it is in fact before the barline?

For now, I’d recommend setting the new option Position end of hairpin relative to note or chord to Left side of note on main stem (found in the Advanced Options section of the Gradual Dynamics section of the Dynamics page of Engraving Options). We need some further adjustment here for this case.

Thank you, Daniel!

Might as well clarify: I’m talking about the specific cases where the hairpin touches a barline.
