Enhanced MIDI Key Commands

Hi, I’ve been using Logic for many years, but have now started to learn Dorico as I find the notation side of Logic wanting. However, the implementation of MIDI Key Commands in Logic is fantastic, and Dorico is way behind with this feature. For example, Logic recognises separate values for MIDI channel, and each data parameter. For example, Note On event C3 can be used with 16 different channels, each of which can have 128 different velocity values. Dorico, on the other hand only can only use C3 for one command, the channel and the velocity value being ignored. Logic can even distinguish different input devices, so the same Note On event from different keyboards or iPads will be interpreted differently. It’s a big ask to implement something as flexible as this, but it would be great if Dorico could at least differentiate between input devices, or individual MIDI channels.

Yes, we would like to expand the capabilities of Dorico’s MIDI key commands in future versions. It’s on the famous backlog!
