Enharmonic Shift Cubase 14 Score Editor Issue

Basically I need all the E-flat’s to become D-sharp’s. We can easily do this in Cubase 13 with the function Enharmonic Shift, we can choose how the desired note will be displayed. We can easily do this in Dorico by using Alt + or Alt -. But I can’t find this function in the new score editor in Cubase 14. Am I missing something? Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

Enharmonic shift of notes is currently missing, and we intend to bring this functionality back as soon as possible. In the mean time, the only way to influence spelling of notes is with the accidental buttons of the note toolbar, which will however change the pitch as well if you use them on existing selected notes.

If the notes have been entered with the pencil tool in the Score Editor, they will try to continue using the notename as entered. If however those notes have been entered via midi directly, they will respell automatically as you change the key signature.

When will this functionality be reintroduced?

Hi Gordon, welcome to the forum.

It will be reintroduced in the next patch release of Cubase 14, which isn’t all that far away now.

Thanks for the quick reply - I’ll look out for it

Hi, I’m looking into the new 14.0.20 update. As I understand it, I still can’t respell accidentals like in Dorico?

Select notes you want to respell, Score menu, Spelling, Respelling above/below. That should behave like Dorico. If that doesn’t work for you, can you be more specific in your question?

Yeah, it’s working. Thank you very much. I tried this one, as in Dorico:

  • Press Alt-= to respell upwards.
  • Press Alt-- to respell downwards.
But any option will work for me, the important thing is that it works now. Thanks again :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks - yes, it works (not the key combination, but the menu item)
However - ‘Umdeuten’ in the ‘Notation’-menu is a very strange translation.
I am with Cubase since Version 4 - but such terms or translations are very very odd.
Thanks for help !!
