Enlarge Copyright frame

I imported XML completed score SATB and piano that was initially created with Finale. For my choir, I don’t want to show the accompaniment (Piano) in copies. This has got to be an elementary question that I can’t seem to find the answer to. I finally deleted those staves. It’s a working file, but it should have a hiding property. Right?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks, Connie

Hi @Connie_Stauffer,

I posted a response but then reread your post. It seems that your thread title and description have nothing to do with each other. Am I wrong?

Can you upload a screenshot of your issue?

I’m guessing there are two issues here, since the title of the post and the post itself don’t bear on each other. That said, the fix is simple:

You need to go into setup mode and create the layout(s) you do want. Deleting instruments deletes their musical info. This is not what you want. You simply need a layout that only shows SATB, rather than the full score which naturally shows all instruments (including piano). The glory of Dorico is that you can have multiple layouts (read: presentation of musical data) within the same file, so you can have a version both with and without piano.

In setup mode, click the icon in the lower right to create a new layout, and then you can select the parts you DO want in the column on the left hand side.

At that point, you can switch to the layout in question by using the drop down at the top which controls which flow you’re viewing. Once you’re looking at the correct (new) layout that is only SATB, you can adjust all the layout options for that particular layout.

As for the copyright box, you need to go into engraving mode, activate the frames option, and make the frame slightly larger via the square handles. If this is just one piece in the file, and you only need to adjust the first page, an override is no big deal. If you’ll have multiple pieces that all need a proper first page in the same file, then you want to edit the master page template and make the copyright box larger there, so it will be larger for all your flows that have a first page.
