Enter double dotted notes

Hello. I’m inputting notes using the keyboard. I have a question about inputting double dotted notes. For dotted notes, you can just double the number, but for double dotted notes, you have to press Alt+.. It’s slow and inconvenient. Is there another way? I get a lot of double dotted notes. Thank you.

Hi @Nohoodorico, not sure if this can help (or if there are faster methods [Edit: as @k_b suggests below]), but you could enter those rhythms as single dotted (taking advantage of the double click on the value), followed by eight notes, and then change the desired notes all at once (after selecting them) to double dotted notes, with the same shortcut Option(Alt)+. (The eight notes will be automatically become sixteenths)

If you have a lot of double dotted rhythms, I would take another approach: Write out one bar, select it and just hit R a couple of times. Then go over the passage again and repitch the notes with Shift-N and L
Also just paste for example your Oboe line into the Clarinet staff below (Duplicate to staff below) and repitch the notes there too.

This method seems good. I can apply it in this way. I’ll give it a try. Thank you.

I have a suggestion. It would be nice if you could select the entire score and then filter by dotted notes. Is that possible? It would be more efficient than selecting them individually. Thank you.

Extended filter (and selection!) functionalities as the one you suggest, are already being requested in the Forum, and are on the radar of the Development team, for what I can remember.
