Enter Value for Range Selected automation change

This could be better/faster in many situations

  • Select a range of automation
  • Press a hotkey that brings up a small black window box automatically cued for text entry
  • User enters a number (say 0db), and presses enter. Done

in fact, I’d like to see this type of prompted value entry much more throughout the program.

I like this. Anything that reduces the use of the mouse is good in my book. Sadly, Cubase seems to be going in a different direction since C13…

What do you mean by this? How do you feel it is headed?

Since C12, the possibilities of navigating Cubase with the keyboard (Tab-key, cursor-keys), as is common in a lot of other software, have been drastically reduced. See for example the mix console, where with C12 I didn’t need to use the mouse if I wanted, I was able to navigate e.g. the inserts horizontally and vertically with the cursor keys, use the DEL key to remove the current insert, then use TAB to go to the send section, move around there and increment/decrement values with shortcuts. Mostly, all gone now.

Similar in other areas.
