Entering dynamics like lyrics (Feature request)

Hello everyone,

I very often use complex dynamic variations involving crescendos, diminuendos, and dynamic levels placed at precise points within measures (like envelopes), and I was wondering whether it would be possible for the dynamics popover to follow the same workflow logic as the Lyrics tool.

At the moment, whenever I need to write dynamic evolutions with many changes or spanning more than one bar, I have to open the dynamics popover, enter 2–3 markings, then close it again in order to move to the next rhythmic position and write the following dynamic change.

It would be very practical to be able to write dynamics using the same logic as lyrics entry: advancing with the space bar to the next grid value. As far as I know, this is currently only possible for a crescendos/diminuendos. Or am I wrong?

If you use the caret, the Space bar moves according to the note (not the grid) value, and it allows very precise placing.

Thank you @charles_piano. Yes but, as you can see, you’re forced to reopen the popover every time, whereas when you use the lyrics tool you move forward with the hyphen (or the space bar) without having to reopen the popover each time…
