Entering text notes (comments) NOT musical notes

Hi all, during my quick and steep learning process, I recall seeing a reference to a way to add a notation or comments to parts of my score. I am not able to find that again. Of course, searching for “note” is futile. Am I imagining this, or is it a real feature? Thanks, and Ciao!

Like this?

If by any chance it’s in-score text that you mean, rather than the kind of comment mark @DanielMuzMurray helpfully references, then you’d be looking at staff- and system-attached text.

I frequently use such text for (highly formatted) kinds of compositional notes that I want to see explicitly while sketching.

Thanks for the replies! Yes - that is it. I like this feature and see myself using it often. It’s not officially on my Cheat-Sheet on my monitor

Just adding that comments can be exported by themselves in a seperate doc, which I think can be useful.

Hey, thanks for that additional comment, Gregory. That could be useful for my set list data.

I’m new here. But Comments are BEAUTIFUL. I edit early music, and there’s often some issue in the original score that needs to be fixed. In Finale, I generally wrote some kind of Expression and then erased it afterwards. Now, I just write the problem as a Comment, in the language I think I’ll use for the critical notes, then export them all and paste into a text box. :+1:

Agreed! I am also new and keep finding new features that make the transition process enjoyable!
