Erasing background for time-Signatures with objects other than ties

Hello,

I know this has been requested for years, but I can’t find an existing thread about it.

Since Dorico 3.5 (if I remember correctly), it’s only been possible to erase the time signature background when it collides with ties. I’d like to reiterate the need to be able to erase time signature backgrounds regardless of the nature of the adjacent objects, in order to prevent collisions with horizontal lines (e.g., glissando lines), for example.

An alternative would be to add a manual override in the Properties panel : Erase background for the selected time signature(s), independent of collision detection (as with playing techniques and dynamics).

Thank you,

JM

A consequence of this is that there are no real workarounds: even adding a graphic frame with a white graphic or a text frame with white background would erase everything because there is no layer editing capability yet.

Have you found any alternative to vector-software-based editing?

Indeed I haven’t found any workarounds for this other than going into illustrator. (the other way would be to actually split the line into two separate lines for each staff and painfully align each side…but I would rather shave my beard with toenail clippers.)

…imagining the pain is more than enough, thank you!
