Error 2003238901

message error createWicBitmapRenderTarget result = -2003238901in cubase pro 15, please I would like to ask anyone of you if you had the same problem as me how to solve this error, when I go to open an instruments, because I have a notebook asus x53sc with windows 11

Hi,

Asus X53SC models typically use an older Intel integrated GPU plus a mid‑range NVIDIA 5xxM‑series card. These GPUs support only a subset of modern Direct2D/DirectX pixel formats, and older or OEM drivers sometimes expose fewer formats than newer reference drivers.
The error you see corresponds to Direct2D reporting that the requested pixel format is not supported by the current device/driver, i.e. the app is asking for something this driver/GPU combo does not advertise.

So:

  • It is not usually a hardware failure.
  • It can be a limitation of the old GPU generation or just an outdated/bad driver.

What you can realistically do on that notebook

As an end user on an older Asus X53SC, these are your best options:

  • Install the newest possible GPU drivers
    • For NVIDIA: download the latest driver that still supports your mobile GPU from NVIDIA’s website (not just Windows Update or Asus’ very old package).
    • For Intel: make sure the Intel HD driver is also up to date, because the system may switch between Intel and NVIDIA.
  • Make sure Windows and DirectX are fully updated
    • Run Windows Update until there are no more important or optional updates, especially display and platform updates, since they can affect Direct2D and DXGI behavior.
  • Force use of the discrete NVIDIA GPU (if possible)
    • In the NVIDIA Control Panel, under “Manage 3D settings”, set the problematic application to run on the high‑performance NVIDIA processor instead of the integrated Intel GPU.
    • This sometimes gives access to more supported formats and better Direct2D compatibility on older laptops.
  • Try switching off GPU acceleration in the affected app
    • If the app has a setting like “Use GPU acceleration”, “Use Direct2D”, “Use hardware rendering”, turn it off to force software or GDI rendering.
    • That bypasses the unsupported pixel format path and often fixes the error on older machines.
  • Use standard display settings
    • Keep resolution at the panel’s native value and color depth at 32‑bit.
    • Avoid exotic color profiles or virtual display drivers that might confuse the driver.

thanks Martin.Jirsak, I had guessed I have already changed PC, it was just to understand and I wanted to use it only for small x53 purposes, but unfortunately now it does not work well with the new versions of Cubase Pro 15 while with the others up to 14 it does. Patience
