I use to have hair, but then i started with Cubase (3).
Every time theres a new version, im loosing more hair, Now its C15.
And im bald!!
WTF, do they make it more and more hopeless to install?? So far i have spend 2 days and all i got is Error DRE426. No valid license found. SERIOUS? Well i just bought it, come on. Why do i have to be a professor to use cubase. I feel like throwing it all away.
So when you bought it you got a “Download Access Code” that needs to be entered in the Download Assistant (upper left corner). This registers your license with the Steinberg Server and then you can activate the license in the Activation Manager.
This is not a matter of installation, it is just where you register your license.
Thx, but everytime i try, it tells me that i dont owe the code for this . I have installed and upgraded all from the download manager, but i cant redeem the code!!
Step 1
can you please open your MySteinberg account and have a look at the licenses? Do you see your recently purchased license? If you can’t see it, just enter your Download Access Code rigth there.
Step 2
Please make sure to install the latest Steinberg Download Assistent here.
The SDA will automatically update all other applications if needed.
Does it work?
Step 3 (in case it still doesn’t work)
In case you still get an error message open the Activation Manager (it has been installed with the Download Assistent above). Maybe you have changed system relevant parts and you have your license on more than three systems? In this case, just deactivate licenses on the old systems and activate it on your current system.
So here is the reason why you can’t activate the license.
AI is a release that is packaged with hardware devices and can not be bought standalone. If you have Cubase 12 Pro the only version you can buy is an update (not upgrade) to Cubase 15 Pro.
Upgrade means for example you have Cubase Elements and want to Upgrade to the Pro release. Update is buying the new release, but in the same level.
Please take a look at the receipt (mail with download access code) > what exactly did you buy? There is no such thing as an upgrade for AI 15 as @JuergenP said. You need to contact Steinberg support either way to get a refund.
@JuergenP has already answered your last question: If you really own Cubase 12 Pro. Have a look at your MySteinberg account to make sure, please.
You could also wait for a sale and work with Cubase 12 Pro in the meantime.
