From time to time I get an error massage that says “A serious problem has occured please try to save project…” and it create a .bmp file.
This happens when I click on the Edit Instrument track icon to open the vst plugin in the track. When I first start using the project this does not happen, but rather after a while of using the program.
Can anyone help with this? I am new owner of Cubase and don’t know what to do about this.

BBC symphony VST is crashing, according WinDbg Preview.
I don’t use that VSTi, so can’t help with any personal experience, but make sure you’re on the latest version.
Also, try running Cubase in Safe Mode with preferences disabled to check if a prefs corruption is the cause. (if it doesn’t crash in safe mode, quit and relaunch in safe mode, and delete preferences.

Yes I can see that in this instance BBCSO is causing the error, but I have previous errors happened with different VSTs. I just installed BBCSO today, but I have been getting this error for months now.
I will try your suggestion regarding the deletion of preferences.
