I’ve been experiencing this same issue for a while now and just can’t figure out what the problem is. I’m using Cubase 10 with the MR816 interface. I also utilize a summing mixer, so am sending out 14 channels via the 8 outs and the ADAT outs. Am also utilizing the s/pdif ins and outs. I can mix a song for hours, save appropriately, then when I come back later to open up the project, I’ll get the error message “a serious error has occured, please try to save under a different name”, or something like that.
I re-boot the computer, close and re-launch Cubase, and usually after multiple attempts it’ll finally open the project and works perfectly,… until next time I re-open.
I’m not sure how to trouble shoot the issue. Logically it could be an issue with either the interface, the software, or my PC. Both the interface and the PC are around 11 years old. I really don’t want to purchase a new interface or PC only to have the same issue.
Any ideas, or trouble shooting advice?
