I have been having problems ever since downloading and installing the last HALion (Sonic) 7.1.30 maintenance update.
I am getting this message now when loading in Dorico 5 PRO:
Please run Steinberg Download Assistant and install the following:
Halion Sonic SE 3 - Content
Groove 5 SE - Instrument
I have tried re-installing many things it keeps telling me to install but I keep getting the same type of message. Not sure what to do from here. Does anyone have any thoughts/solutions for me? Appreciate any help you can provide. Thanks!
Do they actually work, or not? According to the logs, HALion and GA seem to be loading.
However, you do have a number of “Trial” libraries installed. HALion Trial Content; Sequel Trial Content. Could that be the issue? Perhaps delete them from the Steinberg Library Manager.
Hi @benwiggy , many thanks for trying to help in this case, but I think it is better if I take over.
Hi @maestroralph , from the diagnostics I can see why you get those error messages.
First, you are missing two content files. Second, you have Groove Agent SE installed, but the VSTScanner found something wrong with it and put it on a blocklist and therefore it does not get loaded.
The missing content error you can overcome by reinstalling the HALion Sonic Selection - Content package. In the Steinberg Download Assistant navigate to the Dorico 5 Pro section and as the third listed item you see that mentioned package. Click on the Install again button, that should fix that problem.
In regards to Groove Agent SE, from the logs I can’t see which version you have installed, but I also recommend reinstalling that one. Again, in the Download Assistant choose the 8th item and click on Install again. Also, delete the folder
That appears to have taken care of the problem! Thanks so much!!
I do have another question. It appears that Grove Agent 5 is listed on my download assistant as a download. Would it be better to have the full version as opposed to SE? How do I know for sure I am licensed for downloading?
Regarding your other question: Downloading and installing is not the issue here. Anyone can download and install anything, but can only get it running with a proper license.
Whether you are licensed you can find out via the Steinberg Activation Manager, so first check there.
My recollection is that so far Groove Agent SE works more smoothly with Dorico since it comes with support files/settings the full Groove Agent does not have.
If that impression is outdated, I am sure someone will speak up.
