Unfortunately I just upgraded to Dorico 6.2.10 and just started having problems continuing to work on my orchestra score, I keep getting the error message: Error opening file. I am using an iPad which has the most recent OS version. I have done lots of tricks to try to get the file to open, and was able to find a backup on my desktop, that I can use, but it does not have the most recent 5 instruments (109 measures each) that I had added. The last suggestion was to save the project to my iPad instead of the cloud or OneDrive and that unfortunately did not work today - I had started adding the instruments that were lost and now they are lost again. Also, sad to say, I just paid for a lifetime subscription to Dorico on my iPad as well as my yearly upgrade on my desktop.
With the version of the file that gives the “Error opening file” message, are you able to copy it off the iPad (via iCloud, perhaps) and post it here? Or email it to me (r dot lanyon at steinberg dot de)?
I’m experiencing the same issue after the last update 6.2.10.6080.
Basically all my files throw the same error message: “Error opening file”. I can’t work on any of my files at all! All these files are for sure on the device, never have them in iCloud. And no workaround has helped me so far.
This is a major issue, I hope Steinberg will treat it with the required urgency.

Just did! I sent you three files, I have many more in the same state.
I am not able to attach the file, get the message, “file can’t be attached”. When I click on the file from Dorico or double click on the file to open Dorico, it loads to 16% then says Error Opening file. This is on my iPad. I tried to open my desktop (PC) ‘Dorico and since the upgrade I am unable to open Dorico on my desktop.
So, I have installed Dorico on my Dell laptop and started working with that, but I purchased the lifetime subscription to my iPad and would like to use that tool. I have saved the project on my iPad and continue to get the message error opening file.
Can you copy the file into iCloud, and then email it to me from there?
I was able to email you the file by sharing the file and emailing it to you. I hope this helps.

I have had the same problem. So frustrating! Every time I start working on a project, the app suddenly shuts down. When I try to reopen the file I get the “error opening file” message. I’ve tried every internet suggestion to fix the issue and nothing works. I finally deleted the app and reinstalled it - same thing. I paid for a lifetime subscription too, but I’m about ready to return to my old software. I can’t take the chance of creating something only to have it disappear completely every time. If you figure this out, please post the solution! Thanks.
See the thread about taking the commas out of all titles, paths, etc. That solved my problem.
