Error report question

I heard a thump like a “power off” sound in my monitors then Cubase stopped working , left side stereo input meter was stuck in the red with no audio input. Tried restarting , wouldn’t recognize dongle. Re plugged USB licenser and all OK now.

I’m curious to know if what happened if anyone can help. Thanks!!

Curious why you’re using you’re using this version in 32 bit when your OS is 64 bit and the 5.5 updates are free.

Cubase 5 because it runs great with the Tango which is now an “orphaned device”. Cubase 32 bit because of a number of favourite plugs ins especially Wizoo W2 . No particular reason for not updating besides not wanting to do so in the middle of a project . Will do that asap . Things are running fine now but I’m curious to know whether " Exception code: C0000005 ACCESS_VIOLATION" etc ., can be a one time event perhaps caused by a power issue or does it always point to registry issues etc? The thump in the monitors sounded like something was powering down , but nothing shutdown including the computer or Cubase.
