Hi, when launching Dorico 6.2 after installation, I get this :
I would try uninstalling and reinstalling - it looks like one of the DLLs that Dorico uses hasn’t been installed correctly.
I did reinstall with SDM. No change.
Instead of doing a Reinstall in SDM, do an Uninstall from the Windows app list. Then double-check there are no files left in C:\Program Files\Steinberg\Dorico6 - delete them if there are. Then you can Install again from SDM.
Is there ever a way to improve this extremely tedious process of updating Dorico? I have had Dorico since the beginning and have complained about this issue so many times: Download Assistant (why??), Activation Manager (why??), and, to add pain to misery, each one needs to be updated every time. Now I am waiting for the update of the “Infamous Download Manager.”1 hour and running. Such a lovely software, and such a tedious update process. I have a new Mac Mini, good internet, and I am pretty decent with computers. By far the worst updating software I have ever encountered. And although there have been countless complaints, nothing has changed, probably never will. Such a waste of precious time, if Dorico weren´t awesome software, I would have dumped it a long time ago. I could apologize for being so blunt, but I just can´t.
I did all of these. Same issue…
In that case could you try downloading from here instead of using SDM: Dorico 6 Downloads | Steinberg
Done. Same issue…
I finally uninstall, reboot, reinstall and it works now. Thanks for your help !
@Richard_Lanyon For your information, it happened to me this morning — right after a brief Windows Security popup saying that an app would only be partially usable, or something like this (was too quick to take a screenshot)
But I checked and nothing was showing up in the Windows protection history… I tried Dorico 5 which launched normally.
I rebooted the computer, same thing. Then, after a few attempts (I’m not exactly sure what I did), it finally worked, without resintalling anything…
