Dear Dorico fellows,

I placed the subtitle in my Score, but I don’t see the subtitles in the different players.

Who can or will help me?

I am not at the home computer now, and won’t be home for another 8+ hours.

Dorico uses “Page Templates”, where you setup the page 1 time, and Dorico will fill in all of the appropriate information.

When you open a file, view one of your instrument parts. After you see the part in the viewer, go to Engrave Mode. In the bottom right hand corner you will see the Page Templates (First and Default). Double click on the First page template, and this will open that page layout template.

There is a right and left hand page. I would suggest making the text box bigger that says {@ProjectTitle@} on both pages, and then double click in the box, right click, and select Project Subtitle. That will add the token {@ProjectSubTitle@}. Hit apply near the upper right. An d that will take you back into Engrave Mode.

If you don’t see the subtitle, press command +I (ctl + I on windows), this should open the Project information. Add the subtitle under the subtitle section under the project (or flow if you have multiple flows). And it should appear on the part.

Dorico uses Page Templates to generate the different layouts; you can see these in the right-hand panel in Engrave mode. There are two different page template sets: one for score layouts and one for part layouts.

If you want to add the subtitle to all part layouts, then switch to Engrave mode and select a part layout from the dropdown in the top toolbar.

In the right-hand panel, under Page Templates, you should see that the current set is Default Part. Double-click the First template and add the subtitle where you want it. That will add the subtitle to the part template, and all part layouts should display it.

(Except that if you have made frame changes to any part layouts, those pages will not pick up changes to the template. You can tell if you have made changes by looking for red triangles in the Pages panel on the right for each of your layouts.)

Here’s the manual section on Page Templates.
