how do I get the start and end points to stay in the same place when moving it around the arrangement? thank you,
It sure looks like they do stay in the same position as per your screenshots.
If you want to move the event through the clip first drag the end point of the event to the new stop position, afterwards drag the start point of the event. Do that in the project timeline view directly, not in the Sample Editor.
in the first picture the event start and end points are ar bar 1 and bar 5. In the 2nd picture they are at bar 5 and bar 9. in the first picture the sound does not play back, in the 2nd one it does.
From your screenshots I can’t see a reason why bar 1-4 on the first picture should not sound like bar 5-8 on the second picture.
The blue ruler indicates that you might have the Independent Track Loop activated in the editor.
