.exe not responding!!!!!

Can anyone explain why cubase (any version) lags. In task manager/ performance, it highlights in red and says not responding! Takes a good 40- 60 seconds for it to catch up.
Tried Cubase 5 and 6 le.

Running Windows 7 ultimate, i3 3Ghz 3GB ram , 1tb SSD

Could it be the pc can’t handle this??

3Gb of RAM does seem a tad small for Cubase. Could be the problem I’m afraid to say

I think the i3 might strugge too, sorry mate
