I’m on the latest version of Dorico 4.
Little expand button is there for “write” mode, as it should be.
The same button was available under “engrave” mode. But is now gone.
It was there, I updated, now it’s gone. Of course I can still cmd+7 to open it, but where did it go? I’ve restarted etc and it is still gone, in case you are wondering.

Found a glitch. It is consistently replicable. It appears to only happen when trying to format music in open meter.
Go to engrave mode, click a note in a measure of open meter, and click “,” or click the button “move to previous system.” Crashes every time.
