Had an idea this afternoon that I’m going to experiment with this coming week if possible.
When mocking up an older classical score, in this case Beethoven’s 7th Symphony Movement II, Allegretto, one is often confronted with markings that require special consideration for that score’s playback. A good example are the staccatos under legato that are the bedrock of the opening theme.
I am creating a PT / PBT called “Score - B7 II.” Then in the expression map I make an entry for “Legato + Staccato + Score - B7 II.” This allows me to support a special mapping for the circumstance without affecting any other mapping for “Legato + Staccato.”
And this would be useful for any such circumstance. I may decide it’s not practical, but I find it an interesting idea.
