I download the trial of Dorico Elements during the recent anniversary sale with the intention of buying it at the end of the trial but unfortunately the offer finished before my trial did.
I don’t suppose there is any chance of Steinberg honouring the offer now? I am only a very light user and would be using it for copying manuscript big band parts into typeset ones which I could still do using Sibelius but I like the jazz fonts that come with Dorico and need the engraving options that don’t come with the SE version.
simisson, have you tried the newly installed Jazz fonts within Sibelius? That might be a way to cover the time until a next sale will happen. Just make sure you stay on the newsletter, so you won’t miss it…
I have bought Dorico Elements which I am sure will suit my purposes.
The download process is very unreliable. In the Download Assistant I had continual errors but after a hour or so it decided to let me do it.
I am now doing the same on my ancient laptop and guess what? all the downloads have failed and I have to “Please try again later”.
It doesn’t exactly ipspire confidence in Steinberg.
simisson, if you look a bit around this forum, there is a link mentioned to a page, where you can download everything without the Download Assistant - in single bits. For most people the Download Assistant is actually helpful but for some it can be better to go the direct path.
