Explicit rests only in parts - possible?

In some instances I would like to split whole bar rests and display the underlying metric structure by inputting explicit rests (e.g. in composite meters). But these rests should appear only in the parts, not in the score. Is this possible?

There is a thread about a very similar issue (Forcing explicit rests to show in single-bar rest) and it was suggested there to input a blank text in the middle of a bar (score layout) which would cause the rest to split up in the parts. However this method does not wort (any longer?).

I tried it just now, and the method described in that thread still works. Maybe you missed the main step described there, which is entering the rests with forced duration on?

Edit: That would cause the rests to show in the score too, of course. To show the extra rests in part only, see Jesper’s post below.

I don’t think that’s possible, I’m afraid. Well, not without a lot of work. Maybe someone else has a better idea.

A line for the bar rest in the score, and the real rests hidden with color opacity.

I don’t see the reason for inputting empty text if explicit rests are the precondition for this.

I see, good idea, but quite tedious… Thank you anyway!

The reason for the text was to prohibit the empty measures from being consolidated into multi-bar rests in the parts.

OK, thank you! I missed that because I was not looking after issues with MM-rests.

If knowing the rhythmic breakdown of the measure before an entry is critically important, perhaps one should add a cue rather than fussing with rests.
