Export Audio Hangs N15

I’m exporting a 2 hour long feature project.

I have recorded the master and stems to tracks in a project and exported those recorded tracks as an XML referencing the audio files I recorded in the mix project.

I import the recorded tracks(5 x 5.1 and 5 x stereo) xml into a new session which has the tracks named as per my deliverable requirements and I export those tracks as split mono bwav files.

The export progress bar gets to 100% and then just sits there indefinitely. I have to force quit. I can’t do this export from N15.

Anyone else having similar issues?

Try to mute Video track, or if your machine has several displays, use just 1 display.

Have you experienced this before Martin?

I open the same project and export on the same machine in 14 immediately after failing in 15 and it’s perfect.

I do have multiple displays and disabling them long term is out of the question unfortunately as the displays are an integral part of my studio setup.

I also have several displays, and disconnecting it helps in N15 emergency solve some freezings.

I just experienced this N15 hang on export for a 1s sound design wav export. I am displaying the timecode in the video window, and during export the timecode is running nonstop, but the exported wav is not growing in size.

Update/Edit: After restarting my system, Windows 11, I can export without it hanging. I also have multiple displays, but disabling any of them is not an option for me, so I did not even try that.

Update/Edit 2: And after doing a little more sound design work & exporting another small sound, the issue is back. Runaway timecode in the video window with N15 frozen.

Yes, pretty much the same as what I am experiencing, but in my case the files were over 2hrs long.

I’m also working on a 22 min project and it does not have this problem using the same workflow as I detailed above

Mute the video track before exporting.

Thank you very much Teo.

This thing that happens with Nuendo 15 has become a big annoyance for me. I needed to export my final mix of a film project on the day of the premiere in the cinema and I solved it by reinstalling Nuendo 14. I hadn’t realized that I could export it by making the video track mute.

Yep same thing here (Mute Video fix works though)

I just discovered the same issue occurs when doing Quick Analysis on the Analyzer channel. I’m working on a short trailer, and as soon as I clicked the Quick Analysis button, I thought “here it comes” as the timecode started running up. It looks like it is essentially doing an export in the background & then deleting it to give you the LUFS results (which I used to do with Wavelab Pro). It makes sense that this issue would extend to this process.

Update: and I can confirm Mute Video fix works for this, as well.
