Export MIDI tempo changes with drag-and-drop to Finder?

Hi,

I’m quite certain I’ve previously been able to export a MIDI with the tempo track information (incl. changes) by simply dragging and dropping an empty MIDI event (the length of the track, if that matters) onto my desktop/Finder.

Now when I try that, it seems to only include the starting BPM but none of the changes.

Is this a setting I’ve changed or was it never possible?

Is there any other way for me to export a MIDI file (not .smt) for someone in another DAW to receive my tempo maps ONLY? By using Export > MIDI File they receive all the MIDI notes in my project as well.

Would really appreciate some guidance here,

Thanks in advance!

I don’t know if it does not work by design but I can confirm that this happens. Windows 10 here.

Maybe if you mute all tracks they won’t get exported.

Thanks for the reply! What do you mean happens: are tempo changes included when you drag and drop a MIDI file from Cubase to Windows Explorer?
