A noob question. 
How do I export my 5.1 mix as a stereo mixdown?
As no one really cares about multichannel audio anymore (unless it’s Atmos) I sometimes mess with plugins and VST’s just for my own pleasure, but this time I actually have something that I would like to render as stereo file and upload to my Bandcamp.
How do I do this without destroying the whole session?

OK, I’ve got it…
Just routed everything to a group channel and added a stereo bus.
Just need to remember to switch the group channel from 5.1 to Stereo when I render stuff.

Won’t it create 5.1 file with 4 empty channels after exporting?
You can try different slots to see/hear where it works best for you. Either as a post-fader insert on the last surround channel before sending to the stereo out bus or on the out bus channel.
The plugin does not create a file. It is always you who decides what the file format is gonna be.
Hear for yourself. Doesnt cost you anything except for 5 minutes time.
