I have a problem where I have recorded in say expression on the midi track. How do I overdub this? At the moment if I try and rercord or drop in CUbase keeps the existing data and adds the new also meaning I have to either delete the lot and start a fresh each time or I have to go in and edit.
ANy thoughts? Trying to achieve the equivalent of and audio overdub where it just deletes the old data and replaces with the new?

Down in the Transport bar, you can find Setup MIDI Record Modes. For your use case the upper part (Linear & Cycle MIDI Recording) is the one, where you should choose Replace. But be aware, this will not replace the MIDI CCs only, it will replace even the MIDI Notes.
In the Inspector’s ‘Note Expression’ editor is a sub-section labelled ‘Global,’ under which you can find the ‘Overdub note expression’ checkbox.

There is also an option in the Preferences, where you can enable the MIDI Controllers overdub.
