Its good to hear that Dorico is supporting expression maps. Are these modelled on those of Cubase? One issue I have with Cubase is the limited range of symbols available to the expression mapper.
Many sample libraries have articulations that are not covered by Cubase’s symbol/font set; substituting these with text instead is ugly and congests the score. Will Dorico have an extended symbol library to accommodate a full range of articulations, or at least allow the importation of custom or 3rd party font/symbol sets?
The plan is that Dorico will build on the foundations of Cubase’s VST Expression Maps with a wider range of possible playing techniques. Once we have made some more concrete progress on this point we will be happy to share more details.
