Hello,
I have expression maps for all of my orchestral libraries for composing since Cubase 12. once I upgraded to 13 and on, they stopped working. Once open the expression map setup window and try to load them, nothing happens.
I have uninstalled, reinstalled, moved folders, reaching out to support etc.
Support stated there is no guarantee that the maps with seamlessly transfer. Has anyone found a work-around or solution? As my fellow composers know, these libraries are painstakingly large (Like Spitfire) that have several variations of instruments. Remaking everything sound depressing at this point. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Hi @Justus_Mitchell, welcome to the forum. Sorry to hear you’re having trouble with your existing expression maps. The conversion process should usually work, so I’d be interested to hear about details.
What exactly are the steps you’re going through when importing old expression maps or projects? Is this problem the same with all expression maps? Could you share a specific example file?
We’ve recently confirmed and fixed a problem (internally, fix scheduled for an upcoming patch release), where Track Import doesn’t correctly convert expression maps, leaving them in an unusable state.
Have you tried exporting an expression map from the old Expression Map Setup window, and importing it again in the new Setup Window?
- File, Open… → should work fine
- Expression Map Setup, Import Expression Map → should work fine
- File, Import, Track Archive… → known problem, expression map fails to convert
