I’d like to notate a flute ensemble piece in Dorico and figure out how to use Dorico’s DAW to create a somewhat accurate audio version. The piece is “I Dreamt a Dream” by Nicole Chamberlain. She has recorded a YouTube video to educate the performers on how to play the sounds.
I’m an amateur Dorico user and know less about VSTs and samples. At the moment, I use NotePerformer because it works well enough for me.
You’ll certainly need a VST library that contains the type of sounds you require. I don’t own any of them, but the the Nick Torretta “Elastic Music” libraries contain a bunch of extended techniques for woodwind instruments at reasonable prices. Perhaps the Flute library will have what you need.
Thanks so much. I will look into it. Not sure if it will support effects over the entire flute family of instruments, but I will email Nick and find out.
