Recently upgraded to Wavelab 12 and I’ve been running into an issue where I can’t seem to use External FX as a clip effect.
I’ve got all of my ins and outs configured with my Apollo in the preferences, however, whenever I put external FX as a clip effect, it seems that nothing appears to be sending. There is absolutely no send gain in the external FX window.
The external fx totally work great when used as a track or output effect. So I know that it’s not a routing issue.
Any solutions for this?
For anyone else having the same issue, it seems the issue is related to using Reference Tracks.
The External Effects plugin works properly when you are working without a reference track. But as soon as you copy a clip to a reference track, the External Effects plugin stops sending.
The workaround I’ve found to this issue is that you need to add an External Effects plugin to your reference clip as well and bypass it. For some reason, as soon as you do this, it makes the plugin work properly on your working track.
@PG1 this is something you should look into (unless this is by design for some reason, but I couldn’t find any documentation to support that).
