External Instruments and effects recalled from favourites...

…are not recognised by Cubase’s plugin list. I have to manually 'add bus

Description.

Open ‘VST Connections’.

Select ‘External Effects’ first making sure the list is empty, i.e. no External Effects are listed.

Open ‘Favourites’ and add a previously saved External Effect configuration from the favourites list.

‘Add Instrument Track’ and browse to the ‘Steinberg’ plugin folder to find the ‘External Effects’ subfolder.

Notice there is no ‘External Effects’ subfolder.

Return to ‘VST Connections’.

Manually ‘Add External Fx’ - no need to configure.

Return to arrangement window -

‘Add Instrument Track’ and browse to the ‘Steinberg’ plugin folder to find the ‘External Effects’ subfolder.

Notice the ‘External Effects’ subfolder has now appeared, containing your recalled ‘Favourite’ configuration and the one you added manually.

This is ok as a workaround, but the ‘External effects’ and ‘External Instruments’ tabs in ‘VST Connections’ has always been a bit hit-and-miss since its inception and it would inspire confidence if this was working 100% at last.

Thanks for this work-around. My external effects were also missing on my machine and adding an unconfigured device made the external plugins category appear.
