I’m thinking about using Cubase as the sound source for an external mixer. A prerequiste would be of course an audio interface with multiple outputs (e.g. rme hdsp 9652 or raydat).
The project setup would include a set of busses connected to the outputs of the rme card. For each cubase channel (vst or recorded audio) a send to one of the output busses would be added so I would be able to switch between pre/post to get the signal from the specific channel.
The idea is to work and modify a cubase project while using external mixer & outboard gear in a studio. If outside of the studio I could still use the internal effects/mix of the cubase system.
Would such a setup be possible? Or will PDC make the signals at the mixer out of sync?
