Extract MIDI not highlighted in VariAudio

I need to Extract MIDI from a mono audio file. I opened the file in the Sample Editor, clicked Edit VariAudio to create the MIDI notes, and pressed CTRL-A to select them, but the Extract MIDI function is not highlighted. The audio file has the same specs as my project file (48kHz, 24-bit.) I’m guessing I’m missing a step but I have no idea what. Any ideas?

While I don’t use that function, it occured to me that the notes might have to be selected – did you try it that way?

Yes, the notes are selected but it is not working.
