Extracting the Sound from an Instrument Track or VST Preset

Greetings,
Loading a VST preset into existing Instrument track (C8.0.30 man page 164) doesn’t work for me - no sound although the instrument input icon lights up on a controller key being pressed. Duplicate track works right away with no changes made. Looks like a bug - anybody?

What do you mean by “Instrument Input Icon”, please? In any case, Monitor or Record Enable button has to be enabled to hear the sound.
