Extreme Steinberg numbers!

What is the point of making it so complicated?
I have a E-licence no
E-licence serial no
USB-licence

Steinberg licence
Aktivation code

Is it time to move to another program that is less complicated?

You also need a licence to chill.

If you’d describe your actual problem then we could help, it’s not as bad as it seems

A fun guessing game!!

Ok…I’ll play…

The op has a registered dongle with a license on it for Cubase 6. He has that installed on his 2012 Dell computer and likes using Cubase 6 a lot for recording r&b tunes.

The op purchased Cubase 14 at 9pm last night and has an activation code and his receipt.

He’s trying to install Cubase 14 Pro but can’t quite figure out how the elicenser dongle factors into installing Cubase 14.

His dog is named Bob.

What do I win?

I think the problem is many buy Cubase and then don’t keep abreast of what is happening or subscribe to steinberg email. They then expect it all to be the same when they decide years later it’s time to update. If it’s your main studio tool then you owe it to yourself to at least keep an eye on what is going on. Even if you don’t update every year.

You are right, but does it help me?

My name is more or less Bob
The instruction manuals are easy if you already know how to do it.

I am coming to that. This was just an introduction.
I just can’t understand all this extremely many long series of numbers. Instead it could be as easy as log into my bank account. For instance with QR codes.

The eLicenser was only for old versions of Steinberg products. They moved to the new Steinberg Licensing after that. For Steinberg Licensing, you get a download access code when you buy it as a full product or upgrade, and you register that in your account (normally via the Steinberg Download Assistant), and once it is registered then you don’t need the code anymore, you just use your Steinberg login to access the license. No need for a QR code when you only have to enter it once and then you throw it away.

You shouldn’t have to worry about the eLicenser unless you are dealing with old versions or you are in the process of trying to upgrade a several years old version of something to the latest version.

The dog is called ‘USB’ yeah?

Yep. I log into your bank account all the time

Have you got it all sorted out by now?
All it takes is just a one-time-only copy & paste action at the end of the day once you know where to do that.

Anyways, let us know if you need any assistance.

BTW… welcome to the forum

Yes, where to do that??

Only you know what you want to do which will define that.

So, it’s still a guessing game. What we know so far: Your dog’s name isn’t Bob but your name is close to Bob.

My turn: Do you have a cat called Lucky and is there a hairy guest in the garage who fancies a certain kind of sandwich with your cat as its main ingredient?

It’s not only difficult to make the program go, I also have to deal with some stupid answers to questions I have newer made.

Okay, I leave you to it. Sorry for asking about details. Good luck

It’s unclear if you actually want or need help. Do you literally want the questions in the first post answered? If so I would say the answers are 1) the point was probably not that, and 2) I don’t think so, but only you know that for sure.

If you need an answer to a different question then you probably have to ask it.

Very simple in the Steinberg Download Assistant, that is all and not complicated at all.
