Dorico Elements 6.1.10.1078 doesn’t handle F#dim7 chords correctly. Other chords appear to work OK.
“F#dim7” always displays with a large “#” sign, a giant circle, and a “7”, no matter how dim7 chords are set to display.
For example, if dorico is set to display dim7 chords as “dim.” with no “7”, it shows:
Changing one letter in this chord name from “F#dim7” to “G#dim7” (no other changes) displays correctly as:
G#dim.
Sorry but your silly system limits me to one embedded item so I can’t show it. But the “#” sign and “dim.” are the correct smaller size, and there is no circle.
This behavior persists across multiple projects, and after restarting Dorico.
The first one (circle 7) is what I want in my score. I set it to display “dim7” to demonstrate that, only on the F#dim7 chord, dorico is ignoring that setting.
I did at one point download some user-posted files that may have been created in pro with a bad F#dim7 chord. I didn’t think I used any of them for my project though.
I don’t have Pro, so I still need to figure out the best way to fix my broken project. I guess that would be to start a new one without the bad F#dim7, and copy the music into it?
