I created a combined “f mf” dynamic by adding the mf as a suffix to f in the properties window. Is there a better way to enter it into Dorico (with respect to matching the fonts, and playback)?

What does this dynamic mean? Attack forte, then immediately drop to mezzo forte (and crescendo)?
You could input the f on the downbeat, then move the caret a 16th to the right and enter the mf.
Adjust in Engrave mode if desired.

Additionally, make sure to select all dyamics in that figure and group them (via right-click) so they are precisely aligned.
